Neostox Basket Orders

One Trading Idea Can Have More Than One Order.

Some trades are simple. One instrument. One entry. One exit. Others involve several stocks, futures, options or hedge legs that together form one trading idea.

Neostox Basket Orders lets you build those orders together, define how every leg should behave, and execute the complete basket as one structured setup.

Build the idea first. Then execute the basket.

One Basket

Think of a Basket as a Trading Plan With Several Orders Inside It.

Suppose your trading idea requires three different orders. Without a basket, you would normally place those orders one by one. With a basket, you prepare all three first.

Your Trading Idea

Order 1 BUY NIFTY FUT
Order 2 SELL NIFTY CALL
Order 3 BUY NIFTY CALL
One Basket
  • Instrument
  • Buy or Sell
  • Market or Limit
  • Quantity
  • Target
  • Stop-loss

The individual orders are different. The trading idea behind them is one.

Every Order Inside the Basket Can Have Its Own Rules.

A basket does not force every order to behave the same way. Each instrument inside the basket can be configured independently.

  1. InstrumentStocks, futures or options — even mixed in one basket.
  2. Order TypeMarket or Limit for each order.
  3. QuantityEach leg can have its own size.
  4. TargetSet independently per order.
  5. Stop-LossDefine risk for each leg before you execute.

Basket: Options Setup

Instrument Side Order Qty Target Stop-Loss
NIFTY 25,000 CE SELL Limit 50 Set Set
NIFTY 25,300 CE BUY Market 50 Set Set
NIFTY 24,700 PE BUY Market 50 Set Set

Illustrative example only. Not a trading recommendation.

Sometimes You Care About One Leg. Sometimes You Care About the Whole Strategy.

Individual orders inside the basket can have their own targets and stop-losses. But a multi-leg strategy is often judged by the result of the complete position, not one leg alone.

Leg-Level Management

Target / Stop-Loss for each individual order.

Basket-Level Management

Basket Target and Basket Stop-Loss based on the combined basket P&L.

Leg 1 +₹1,200
Leg 2 -₹700
Leg 3 +₹400
Basket P&L +₹900
Basket Target Basket Stop-Loss

Illustrative ₹ values only — for explaining combined P&L.

A strategy should often be viewed as one position — even when it contains several trades.

If the Legs Hedge Each Other, Neostox Recognizes the Structure.

Some multi-leg positions are designed so that one leg reduces the risk created by another. When Neostox detects such hedge positions inside the basket, the margin requirement is adjusted automatically based on the combined structure.

You do not have to calculate the hedge benefit manually before building the basket.

Before Hedge

SELL 25,200 CE
Higher Risk Higher Margin

Hedged Position

SELL 25,200 CE
BUY 25,400 CE
Defined Risk Adjusted Margin

The exact margin requirement depends on the positions in the basket and applicable margin calculations. A hedge should first make sense as a risk-management structure. Lower margin, where applicable, is a consequence of that structure.

How Should This Basket Interact With Your Other Trades?

Keep the Strategy Separate — or Let It Work With Your Existing Positions.

This matters when you already have active trades or when you want to practice several strategies at the same time. Neostox gives you two execution modes.

ISO — Isolated Mode

Keep This Basket Isolated.

ISO Mode treats the basket as its own independent strategy. Trades inside this basket remain separate from trades outside the basket, trades inside other baskets, and other active strategies.

Isolated

Strategies do not affect one another.

  • Test different strategies at the same time
  • Compare setups without positions getting mixed
  • Learn each basket as its own complete setup

COMB — Combined Mode

Let the Basket Combine With Your Existing Trades.

When the basket contains an instrument that already exists in your active trades, the new order can affect that existing position. Positions are treated as part of the combined trading account — closer to normal brokerage-account behavior.

Combined

New orders can affect existing positions.

ISO Mode COMB Mode
Basket stays independentYesNo
Can isolate different strategiesYesNo
Existing trades remain untouchedYesNot necessarily
Positions can interact / net togetherNoYes
Best for testing strategies separatelyYes
Closer to normal brokerage-account behaviorYes

ISO Mode asks: “How did this strategy perform?” COMB Mode asks: “What is my overall trading position now?”

A Basket Can Be Simple — or as Structured as Your Trading Idea Needs.

Examples are provided only to explain basket orders, hedging and execution modes. They are not trading recommendations. Actual margin requirements and simulated trade outcomes depend on the positions and applicable market parameters.

Stock Basket

BUY HDFC BANK BUY ICICI BANK BUY SBI

Each stock can have its own quantity, order type, target and stop-loss — plus basket-level risk controls.

Hedged Basket

SELL 25,200 CE BUY 25,400 CE

The second leg provides protection. Neostox recognizes the hedge structure while calculating the applicable margin requirement.

Isolated Strategies

Basket A — Bull Put Spread Basket B — Bear Call Spread

Execute each strategy in ISO Mode so you can monitor and evaluate them independently.

ISO, or Isolated Mode, keeps the basket separate from other active trades and baskets. This is useful when you want to practice or compare several strategies independently.

COMB, or Combined Mode, allows the basket orders to interact with existing active positions. This lets you practice how new trades affect the overall position in a combined trading account.

It depends on what you want to practice. Use ISO Mode when you want to evaluate a basket as an independent strategy. Use COMB Mode when you want to understand how the basket affects your existing overall positions.
